There is a discount if you enter the series which you can do on this web page - do not enter each race individually. The race was full on Mar 2nd in 2026, on Apr 21st in 2025 and on Mar 12th in 2024.
"Venue of the Silverstone Grand Prix 10K is the Silverstone Race Circuit." "This is your best opportunity to run on the Silverstone F1 track and experience the thrill of Copse Corner, the Beckets Complex, Hanger Straight, Stowe, Club and Abbey Corners, racing down the Wellington Straight before rounding Woodcote onto the pit straight." "The race is one and a half laps of the full Grand Prix Circuit starting on the Wellington Straight and finishing in the Heritage Pits pitlane. The smooth tarmac and almost flat course means that there is real PB potential." "Entries are welcome from wheel chair and handcycle competitors."

Please e-mail me if you see any information on the web about this event.

"Nestled in the heart of England, these races deliver on all levels. "Venue is the Postlip Hall." "This is a tough and hilly multi-terrain race. It starts near to the Postlip Hall Tithe Barn and covers the highest points of the Cotswold hills on Cleeve common, before heading into the countryside and returning to Postlip via the Belas Knap neolithic burial mound." In previous years the course was 14.25M but in 2024 it was shortened to nearer 13.1M. This Facebook post says "the race will continue on Cleeve Common and instead of turning right at Wheeler gate it will continue past the pylons and leave the common as usual at Wontley gate - after the race goes past Belas Knap and continues into the field the course will turn left at the end instead of right and will follow the Cotswold Way to Postlip Hall". Banbury 15
15M
CANCELLED
I understand that Banbury Harriers will not be organising this race anymore.
Here are the details about a previous event: ' "The race starts/finishes in Spiceball Country Park." The course is a shaped like a letter P,  the out and back bit being about 5M long. This out and back bit starts along narrow paths in the Park. It continues on a footpath that accompanies the A423. The first hill is alongside this main road at about 1.25M. Just after 2M, the course leaves the main road and ventures into the countryside visiting the villages of Little Bourton, Great Bourton and Cropredy. At 5M, the circular 5M bit  of the P starts. Here there is a short hill and at 6M there is a longer hill. At the top, you reach a village called Claydon. In my opinion, the nicest part of the course is between 6.5M and 8M: so peaceful on a quiet, narrow lane that crosses the Oxford Canal (between Claydon and Appletree). Unfortunately, this tranquillity is shattered by a significant hill at 8M  (and in the future by being only 1K from 225 mph trains on the HS2 railway line). Just after the 10M marker, you complete the circular bit of the course. Just after 11M you meet the last hill which is on the approach to Great Bourton. You know it's coming as you went down it on the way out!'.

Reading Half Marathon
half marathon
Here are the details about a previous event: 'the race village is at the Madejski Stadium - the race not only takes in the highlights of the centre of Reading where you will experience huge crowd support but it also passes through the beautiful grounds of the University campus - the race culminates in a finish rarely found outside an Olympic stadium with over 15000 people cheering you into the magnificent Madejski Stadium and over the finish line - it's a fast, flat route - so whether you run for fun, run to stay fit, run for a club, or run professionally the Reading Half has the organisational capability, friendliness and reputation that are all second to none'. "There will be pace runners at 5 min intervals between 1:20 and 2:30 and at 2:40, 2:50 and 3hr." "Medal." "T-shirt is extra." "There are also a Corporate Challenge and the Mini Marathon."

Goring 10K
10K
OXONGP
"Collect race number and chip on the day." "Race HQ is on the Bourdillon Field behind Goring Primary School." "Starts at Storton Lodge and finishes at the Bourdillon Field." "Closed roads." "Chip timing." "Eco board medal, flapjack." A small section of the route of the race is the same as that of the Woodcote 10K.
Here are my notes about the race from when I did it in 2011: The Goring 10K takes place on undulating rural lanes and footpaths but there are also three or four hills. The race starts at the bottom of a hill outside Goring's Fire Station. The hill climbs from 60m to 95m and lasts about 1K. The race then uses country lanes, 1.5K of the Ridgeway through South Stoke, more country lanes to re-visit the highest point of the course about 1.5K from the end. So you then go down the 1K hill you did at the start but you then run pass the start to do a few meanderings around a housing estate before finishing on the field behind the School.
Tip: if you're wishing to finish fast but are tired at the end of the race, these meanderings can be confusing. So the last 0.5K are worth checking out when you are warming up - have a look at the bit from the START to the FINISH shown on the course map.

Oxfordshire XC Round 5 - Finmere
unknown
One of the Oxfordshire XC events (for certain clubs) taking place on Nov 2nd at Cornbury, Dec 13th in Oxford (TBC), Jan 4th in Oxford, Feb 1st at Guiting Power and Mar 1st at Henley.
Venue for Round 5 was to be the Henley Showground, Greenlands. However, the "ground conditions at Henley Showground are struggling after the continued recent rainfall which means the Estate Office have cancelled all major events to protect both the ground and the people attending".
"This means that Round 5 will not happen at Henley on 1st March."
This Facebook post says "Round 5 will now take place on March 1st on farmland close to Finmere, just over the county border into Buckinghamshire." "There is hard-standing parking at the site of Finmere Car Boot Sale, just off the A421 roundabout, nearest postcode is MK18 4AG. The gates will open at 0800. There is approximately 500m walk from the parking to the club tent and start area, using the subway under the A421." That Facebook post has a map of the car parking area and the subway.
Here's a link to the course map. "Due to the short notice use of this venue, courses may be subject to adjustment."
"We expect to still be able to hold the team relays [after the races of Round 5 have finished] as we normally do at Henley. Thanks to Phil Marshall of Newbury AC for leading this additional friendly competition." There are more details in this Facebook post.

Lions Club of Winslow 10K Road Race
10K

"Venue is Furze Down School, Verney Road." "The route which is a single lap on country lanes is quiet, pleasant and rural through the North Bucks countryside. It leaves Winslow and passes Verney Junction, Sandhills then East Claydon and returns via the Granborough Road to Winslow. (With a bit of a climb to finish, so keep something back!)" A map of the area shows the course varying from about 85m to 113m. When I ran it in 2010 I found a long gentle incline lasting from 3.5K to 5K and another short one at 5.5K. As mentioned above, the cruel bit was at the end: there was a steep hill from 9K to 9.5K. Needless to say, this is where the official photographer was positioned to catch all the grimaces!

RACE IS FULL
The 2026 race was full on Jan 2nd. "The 2025 race was full by the end of the year and the 2024 race was full well in advance of race day."
"Venue is Cantley Park, Twyford Road." "Starting/finishing at the Park, the race is mainly flat, out and back and run entirely on closed roads. The initial 600m climbs into the town centre, following this the route drops until mile two. The route then picks up the regular course which is quick with very few direction changes. The route is generally regarded as very fast." "The route is equally suitable for those looking to complete their first half marathon as it is to established club runners seeking a new PB." "Race HQ is at St Columba’s College, King Harry Lane." "Start time:0930." "The course starts/finishes on the green opposite Waitrose on King Harry Lane. This is a short walk from the Race HQ. The route is on paved footpaths and undulating country lanes with several challenging hills." "It’s ideal for those looking to kick start their spring marathon training or make the step up from 10K." "Chip timing."

Fladbury Festive Five
5M

"A 5M multi-terrain course, mainly off-road, along the banks of the River Avon, through Fladbury Village and Lower Moor." "Note that in order to keep the cost of the race down we are not able to provide a medal or a gift this year. But, there will be free cake for all runners and spot prizes!"

Winchester Trail Runs
21K, 12K
Although on-the-day entries are permitted if the event has not sold out, the 2025 event was full by Jan 6th. "Collect race number on the day."
"Venue is Sparsholt College, Westley Lane." Sparsholt is 5M NW of Winchester. "The races are set in the  beautiful countryside just outside Winchester on stunning tracks, bridleways, and footpaths that surround the famous Farley Mount. This local landmark is the jewel in the crown of our Half Marathon Trail Run. The route is rolling rather than hilly, so it will ease you into your new year of running. The route consists of visually rewarding tree-lined sections and spectacular vistas over the Hampshire countryside and a little climb up to Farley's Mount on the Epic route." "Regardless of experience or ability, we actively encourage new runners to our events and have two route lengths to choose from." "Medal, drink, goodies."

Woodcote 10K
10K

"Collect race number and chip on the day." "Everyone must register online which you can do right up to 0945 on the day of the race. Regretfully there will be no 'on the day, offline' registrations."
"Venue is the Village Hall." "Attracting both club and non-affiliated runners, the Woodcote 10K is something of a challenge. Just completing the undulating, meandering course, along back roads, flanked by woods and farmland, gives a real sense of achievement. It is frequently described by participants as their favourite race of the year." "K markers." "Chip timing." "Medal." My notes from when I did this in 2011 say 'this 10K is on country lanes in the Chilterns - it starts from the village green in Woodcote, goes downhill along lanes through woods to Goring - at 5K,  it goes up the killer hill that is outside Goring's Fire Station, the same hill that is used for the start of the  Goring 10K - there is then a 1K respite but this is followed by a long climb back to Woodcote - elsewhere on the web, it's said to be a "tough road race, 5K downhill followed by 5K uphill" and that describes it very well'.

Chiltern XC League Match 4
unknown
One of the Chiltern XC events (for certain clubs). The events are at St Albans on Oct 11th, Oxford on Nov 15th, Milton Keynes on Dec 6th, Watford on Jan 10th and Luton on Feb 7th. These are the venues and dates that are given on this web page.
"Match 4 takes place at Cassiobury Park." Here's a link to the course maps. "Each race starts 30 minutes later than the standard timetable to accommodate an event taking place at the local golf course."
"The park could be very wet and muddy so the U11s and U13s should consider long spikes. All other courses cross 100m of tarmac between the 2 bridges and much of the main paths have had hardcore added, possibly studs/trail shoes or even road shoes will be a better option. It is recommended that you arrive early enough to recce an amount of the course you will be running to help you make a decision."
"If you wish to have a recce of the course, please comply with the marshals who will be in place, and we ask that you are respectful and give way to the golfers especially between 1000 and 1400 (as they have an important competition and have granted us special permission)."

Gibbet Hangover
10M, 5.5M
This web page says "please email us to let us know if you are thinking about taking part, so we have an idea of numbers in advance".
"The start is at the Crown and Garter Pub, Great Common Road, Inkpen Common." "The Hangover is a 10 mile(ish) wander around the beautiful countryside of Inkpen and Combe. The route takes in Walbury Hill, Combe Gibbet, and Test Way, with a good mix of road and off-road (footpaths and bridleways), and a couple of decent climbs. We also have a shorter route of 5 miles or so for anybody who doesn't fancy the full distance. The finish is also at the Crown and Garter Pub, with a drink or two in the pub afterwards."
